Inventory Buyer
Position: Inventory Buyer
Location: Office-based, King’s Cross, London
Key Responsibilities

Stock Planning: Issue purchase orders to already approved suppliers according to demand.

Manage the POs: Monitor to ensure all POs issued despatch and arrive no later than confirmed ETD & ETA.

Stock optimization: lead the weekly stock planning meetings with different sectors (Tuesdays, 9:00 -11:00AM)

Stock take: Responsible for the stock accuracy, organize physical stock take once a year.

Customs Clearance: Assess shipping & commercial documents, including the CoAs in line with signed specs from suppliers at point of ETD. Submit accurate documentation to customs or agents promptly.

Inbound Logistics: Coordinate freight and warehouse intake. Verify goods received for quality control and inventory accuracy.

Landed Cost: Process inbound POs costs in SAP to ensure accurate landed cost.

Other Supply Chain Tasks: Provide cross-cover for other procurement team members during absence.

KPI Delivery: Meet or exceed KPIs, particularly related to inventory control & cost optimization.
Key Skills & Experience
-
Communicator, Not an Emailer: A competent verbal communicator, keep emails to a minimum. Able to communicate directly, effectively, timely with clarify.

Undergraduate degree in food science preferred: Solid knowledge in food safety, regulatory affairs or microbiology.

Speed: High-speed mindset, high efficiency, without compromising accuracy.

Ability to Influence: We don’t need ‘yes’ people in the team. We value team members who challenge and contribute.

Experience Advantage: Import & export custom declarations in CDS. SAP Business one, EDI or other equivalent software.

Multilingual Advantage: Fluency in Dutch, Chinese, French, German, Korean, or Vietnamese.

Base Salary: £28,080 annual

On-Target Incentive: Up to £20,000 annually, tied to performance-based KPIs. For example:

Improving pallet configuration, effective communication with manufacturers

Managing direct customs clearance, reducing reliance on 3rd party agents

Reduction of stock write-offs

Vetting and appointing new sourcing partners in Asia and globally
